THE NEXT PHASE BEGINS.
With the Section 106 review now concluded, the future of the SS United States enters a new phase.
The SS United States Preservation Foundation remains committed to historic preservation, public education, research, responsible stewardship, and meaningful public participation concerning this National Register-listed historic property.
We recognize that artificial reefs can provide environmental, recreational, and economic benefits when projects are properly evaluated and responsibly carried out.
Our focus remains specifically on the SS United States, the circumstances surrounding her proposed sinking, and our belief that this historic vessel deserves consideration for a better future.
As that work moves forward, the Foundation is expanding its membership and inviting additional supporters to become more directly involved.
MEMBERSHIP IS FREE.
Members can receive updates and briefings, learn about upcoming events and outreach, and take part in opportunities involving research, preservation, education, advocacy, public engagement, and other Foundation initiatives.
Whether your connection to the SS United States is personal, historical, professional, educational, maritime, or simply rooted in a desire to see this important vessel receive the consideration she deserves, there is a place for you in this effort.
