Instead of asking visitors to walk through static exhibits, the SS United States would become a living national showcase where every state and territory has the opportunity to tell its own story.
Inspired by the success of America's Field Trip and the National Mall State Fair during America's 250th celebration, visitors would journey through a permanent series of immersive state exhibits spanning one of the longest public interior spaces ever created aboard an ocean liner.
Each destination could celebrate its history, industries, military contributions, culture, music, innovation, cuisine, natural beauty, and the people who helped shape our nation.
Families could return again and again, discovering something new with every visit while students experience the remarkable diversity that makes America one nation.
By bringing every corner of the country together beneath one historic roof, the SS United States would become more than a museum.
